2029AA Boys Win the Trilogy Turning Point Championship

By Bill Keane 06/04/2023, 7:45pm EDT

The 2029 Boys team had themselves a nice showing at the Trilogy Turning Point winning the Championship in the AA bracket.   The team went undefeated on the day and played with grit and determination.  The defense was stout, the offense was efficient and the goalies were brick walls.   Well done boys.   We're very proud of you all.

2024 Girls Coach Catrambone named Coach of the Year

By Bill Keane 06/24/2022, 8:45am EDT

Catrambone has been named South Jersey Times Coach of the Year for guiding the Eagles on one last memorable journey.

Catrambone raved about the leadership of this season’s senior class at West Deptford, which included leading scorer Krista Yarusso along with Gabbie Battle, Anna Rossi, Amanda Smith and Olivia Magee. They will be missed next year but a solid core will be returning, led by Jaci Gismondi and Kassidy Yarusso.

The Eagles will be following a new leader, however, as Catrambone recently informed her players and the school that she is stepping down. After two rebuilding seasons in 2010 and 2011 to start her tenure, she guided the program to 10 straight winning campaigns, with eight trips to the sectional semifinals and three to the sectional final.

She referenced Ray Didinger — the legendary Philadelphia sports journalist who recently retired — in explaining her decision.

“I keep telling people that I really like what Ray Didinger said: The time was right,” she said.
