Shamrocks Girls Youth Program Overview

New team for 2019-20

Fall:

Updated for 2019-20: All Shamrocks players will have the opportunity to participate in 2 local, one day lacrosse tournaments. 

Youth players will compete in very competitive regional tournaments. 

Updated for 2019-20: All players will participate in team practices in the fall.  The practices are designed so that players can and should participate in other sports (typically Sunday evenings).  

Winter: 

Shamrocks players will participate in our Winter Training Academy including  individual skill development and positional training.   These sessions will focus on developing and reinforcing critical skill sets that will apply to the field game.  These sessions will are designed so that you can and should play additional sports.

Spring:

Updated for 2019-20: All youth teams will hold Spring Team Practices to be held in March, April and May.  Practices will be held once per week and are not to designed to replace your participation on your local town/rec team in the spring.  These practices are designed to enhance your spring lacrosse development.  All players will be expected to attend these practices regardless of conflicts or not.  

Summer:

All players will have Team Practices one to two days per week.  All players and teams will have Skill Development Sessions one day per week. 

Shamrocks High School players will participate in 4 high level Recruiting Tournaments.

Shamrocks Middle School players  will participate in 3-4 very competitive regional tournaments depending on your age group.

Girls Team Structure

Attack:4-5
Middies: 6-7,
Defense: 5
Goalies: 1-2
One Team per Age Group.  At least 2 Coaches per team.

'20 Fair Commits to Drew University

Congrats are in order for 2020 Attack Connor Fair on his recent commitment to NCAA DIII  Drew University.   Connor plans on studying Computer Science while competing on the Men's Lacrosse Team.   Drew is located in Madison, NJ and competes in the Landmark Conference against teams such as the University of Scranton, Elizabethtown and Catholic.  

Connor is a fearless, athletic attackman with a nose for the goal.   He is a threat to score from close and far and distributes the ball well.  He has the versatility to run attack or mid which will make him a nice asset in college.   Connor is a great teammate and very coachable young man. 

Connor has played for the Shamrocks 2020  team for the past 7 years and was a  focal point at attack.   His commitment, drive and fearlessness will help him become an invaluable asset to the Drew University Men's Lacrosse Team and will help them continue on their path to excellence.  

In the spring, Connor plays for West Deptford High School.

'20 Steffney Commits to Wilkes University

Congrats are in order to 2020 Defenseman Tommy Steffney on his recent commitment to Wilkes University.  Tommy plans to study criminology while competing on the men's lacrosse team.  Wilkes University is located in Wilkes Barre, PA and competes in the Metro Atlantic Conference (Freedom Division) against such schools as DeSales University, Stevens Tech and Eastern University. 

 Tommy has played for the Shamrocks for the past 2 years and was an excellent contributor on a strong defensive unit.  Tommy is a committed, hard working defender that can play close defense or LSM.  He is intelligent, ambitious and versatile.  We are excited to watch Tommy  make an impact at Wilkes as they build towards a championship in the MAC.

In the spring Tommy plays for West Deptford High School.  Once again, congrats to Tommy and his family.

'20 Goalie Marino Commits to Wilkes University

Congrats are in order to 2020 Goalie Joey Marino on his recent commitment to Wilkes University.  Joey plans to study engineering while competing on the men's lacrosse team.  Wilkes University is located in Wilkes Barre, PA and competes in the Metro Atlantic Conference (Freedom Division) against such schools as DeSales University, Stevens Tech and Eastern University. 

 Joey has played for the Shamrocks for the past 4 years and was a leader on en excellent defensive unit.  Joey is a fantastic goalie who speaks softly but plays huge.  He is an intelligent goalie with strong mechanics and excellent command.  There is no doubt that Joey will make an impact at Wilkes as the build towards a championship in the MAC.

In the spring Joey plays for Kingsway Regional High School.  Once again, congrats to Joey and his family.
