Over 100 Shamrocks players descended on the Flyers Skate Zone this past weekend for the Inaugural Shamrocks/AILA Indoor Academy.  The Academy is a joint partnership with the Shamrocks and the American Indoor Lacrosse Association(AILA) headed up by legendary coach, Johnny Mouradian.  The Academy consists of 8 hours of High Level Indoor Training.

The 1st of the Shamrocks/AILA Indoor Academy was held at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ on 1/4 and 1/5.  Shamrocks goalies were outfitted in professional Bodam goalie equipment and the field has been marked with proper creases and 4 x 4.9" goals.  We are very pleased with the equipment provided by AILA.  "It is extremely important that the Goalies have properly fitted professional equipment and the AILA has been able to provide those goalie sets for us," stated partner Mike Yarusso.

All Shamrocks players receive this training included in their Shamrocks registration package.  "As a partner in the Shamrocks, I am constantly looking for new ways to add value and differentiate ourselves, " says Bill Keane.  As the games continues to grow nationally and more players are competing for less college spots, it is imperative that clubs evolve and continue to focus on high level training.  "We started the Shamrocks in 2007 as a teaching program and this continues to be the focus in 2014..we simply won't roll the ball out and say go play".

As Box/Indoor Lacrosse gains in popularity, it is important that we bring in the right teachers for our players.  We realize the benefits of the Indoor Game, but believe that the only way to reach the full potential of these benefits is by partnering with great coaches who can teach the game properly.  The Indoor games is a rugged, fast paced game that needs to be taught so players can develop and prosper in a competitive and safe environment.

The Shamrocks/AILA partnership has beared fruit to date.  The Shamrocks have been offered spots in the IMG National Indoor Championships as a result of a Regional Qualifier Championship.  A Shamrocks U-15 and U-17 team will compete in the IMG National Indoor Championships during the weekend of 1/10-1/12/14.  "We are very excited for the weekend.  It will be a test of our development playing against some very strong Indoor Teams," stated partner John Cipriani.
